News: Rose shot a 5-under 67 in his opening round at the Masters, putting him in a four-way tie for second place.
Impact: Rose trails 18-hole leader Jordan Spieth by three strokes. He made three birdies on both side of the course, with a bogey at 11 being his only blemish Thursday. The outing tied Rose's best single-round performance at Augusta, having shot 67 in the opening round in 2004 as well. He placed 22nd that year, largely due to a 9-over 81 he posted on Saturday.

News: Rose competes in this week's Masters.
Impact: Rose has not had a good 2015 at all. He missed the cut after suffering that wrist injury in San Diego, and since has gone MC-55-MC-T37. Crazier things have happened, but Rose's stock is certainly not headed up toward as we look towards this week.
