Nice day for golf? Not
It was an ugly scene at the Reignwood LPGA Classic golf tournament at Pine Valley Golf Club on the outskirts of Beijing on Friday as fog and pollution caused very little visibility and dangerous breathing conditions. A weklong holiday has ramped up traffic in China and that, coupld with several expressways being closed, has caused mass congestion and smog.
It was no better at the nearby China Open tennis tournament, where fans donned face masks to fend off the hazardous air pollution as they watch Petra Kvitova play Jelena Jankovic on Saturday.
Careful out there
Several golfers and course officials could be seen wearing masks during practice and play at the Reignwood LPGA Classic.
