Portugal, Ireland to play World Cup tuneup in NJ

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP)

Portugal will prepare for its World Cup matchup against the United States by playing Ireland in an exhibition game at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium on June 10.

Portugal, which features FIFA player of the year Cristiano Ronaldo, also meets Mexico on June 6 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass.

The Portuguese open the World Cup against Germany on June 16, faces the United States six days later and closes the first round against Ghana on June 26.
