Ah, Champions League, how we’ve missed you. With the return of the world’s top club competition, the stakes were raised and the spotlight shone brighter on our top ten this past week. Wins become more remarkable on the biggest stage, and losses more glaring. As such, a couple teams made drastic jumps in this week’s Power Rankings. Who are we talking about? Click through the gallery to find out:

World 2018 43 FOX Soccer Power Rankings - Feb. 21-28 32019439 Bayern Munich Bayern+Munich World

League standing: 19-2-0.

Last week's ranking: First.

The defending champions stumbled early at the Emirates but didn’t fall thanks to Manuel Neuer’s penalty save against old friend Mesut Ozil. And after Arsenal committed a penalty of their own -- with Wojciech Szczesny sent off for the foul -- Bayern took control of the match in the second half. The Germans beat the 10-man Gunners into submission with tiki-taka and goals from Toni Kroos and Thomas Muller. They now have a two-goal cushion going back to Munich, just like last season, and this time they’ll know not to count the Gunners out.

World 2018 43 FOX Soccer Power Rankings - Feb. 21-28 32019441 Barcelona Barcelona World

League standing: 19-3-2.

Last week's ranking: Third.

La Liga leaders Barcelona went to the Etihad probably expecting a firefight against a dynamic Manchester City offense. Instead, Barca had a comfortable evening against a side that played most of the second half with just 10 men. Once Martin Demichelis had been sent off and Lionel Messi converted the resultant penalty the Spaniards struggled to get a second goal until Dani Alves slipped the ball through the legs of Joe Hart on the cusp of stoppage time. Tie over? It sure looks like it.

World 2018 43 FOX Soccer Power Rankings - Feb. 21-28 32019437 Real Madrid Real+Madrid World

League standing: 19-3-2.

Last week's ranking: Second.

Inactive in the Champions League this past week, Real stayed the course in Spain with a 3-0 win at cross-town Getafe, extending their unbeaten streak to 25 games and keeping pace with Barcelona and Atletico atop the league. Next week, Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. travel to, gulp, Germany to take on Schalke. Though they are heavy favorites going into the tie, Los Blancos have won just once in 25 trips to Germany, losing 18 of those contests.

World 2018 43 FOX Soccer Power Rankings - Feb. 21-28 32019436 Paris Saint-Germain Paris+Saint-Germain World

League standing: 17-7-1.

Last week's ranking: Seventh.

A powerhouse display from Zlatan Ibrahimovic (really, that second goal was his “weak” foot? Come on!) led PSG to a 4-0 romp over Leverkusen on Tuesday. Few expected PSG to lose this tie, but to leave Germany with that kind of cushion, all but wrapping up a quarterfinal spot, was rather unexpected. No team will want to face Zlatan's side in the next round.

World 2018 43 FOX Soccer Power Rankings - Feb. 21-28 32019435 Chelsea Chelsea World

League standing: 17-6-3.

Last week's ranking: Not ranked.

Jose Mourinho’s men limped out of the FA Cup with a lackluster defeat at Manchester City, the same team they had dominated in the Premier League just 12 days before. Perhaps, Mourinho’s mind is focused on bigger things. Sure, he says his team is a “little horse” but secretly he thinks they are developing into thoroughbreds. A home clash with Everton will put their title credentials to the test.

World 2018 43 FOX Soccer Power Rankings - Feb. 21-28 32019438 Atletico Madrid Atletico+Madrid World

League standing: 19-3-2.

Last week's ranking: Not ranked.

Atletico walked a thin line at AC Milan on Wednesday, needing some fine saves from Thibaut Courtois and several from the woodwork to keep the Rossoneri off the scoreboard. But while Milan wasted their chances, Diego Costa did not. The efficient goal machine buried one of his two attempts on goal, and as a result Atletico take a one-goal lead back to Spain and return back to our top ten.

World 2018 43 FOX Soccer Power Rankings - Feb. 21-28 32019440 Manchester City Manchester+City World

League standing: 17-3-5.

Last week's ranking: Fifth.

You’d think Man City would know not to show up with a knife to a gun fight, but that’s what they did against Barcelona, opting for a shockingly cautious approach against a side that was more than happy to control the action, even before Martin Demichelis was sent off for a last-man challenge. City did have their chances, but without Sergio Aguero the quality just wasn’t there and Manuel Pellegrini’s tactics blew up right in his face. City now need a miracle in Spain to stay alive in their first-ever Champions League knockout stage participation. In turn, City should turn their focus to the Premier League race instead.

World 2018 43 FOX Soccer Power Rankings - Feb. 21-28 32019443 Juventus Juventus World

League standing: 20-3-1.

Last week's ranking: Seventh.

Juventus had an uplifting few days as they continued their Serie A dominance with a win over Chievo, and opened a solid 2-0 first leg lead over Trabzonspor in the Europa League. While it may be a disappointment The Old Lady are not playing Champions League football, they are favorites to win the Europa title and basically have their league title wrapped up already. It could be worse.

World 2018 43 FOX Soccer Power Rankings - Feb. 21-28 32019444 Arsenal Arsenal World

League standing: 17-5-4.

Last week's ranking: Ninth.

It’s been an up and down week for the Gunners. First, they exacted revenge on Liverpool, knocking them out of the FA Cup. Then came Arsenal’s Champions League match against Bayern Munich -- it did not go as well. Despite going down 1-0 and a man, the Gunners were holding out hope that a one-goal deficit, even if it was an away goal, was surmountable. But then Thomas Muller shattered their dreams with a late goal. Heading to Germany down 2-0 will be a tough task, even for the talented Gunners.

World 2018 43 FOX Soccer Power Rankings - Feb. 21-28 32019445 Borussia Dortmund Borussia+Dortmund World

League standing: 13-3-5.

Last week's ranking: Not ranked.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was in hot form against Frankfurt last weekend as Dortmund gained ground on Leverkusen in the race for second spot (let’s face it, the Bundesliga title was decided long ago). Aubameyang already had two goals in the bag before a quarter of the game had gone as Jurgen Klopp’s went on to win 4-0 and close within a point of Leverkusen, who lost at home to Schalke. Another season in the Champions League is looking like a done deal bar a collapse.
