Still on their own level in Germany, Bayern won 2-0 at Nurnberg to keep their Bundesliga lead at 13 points. On Wednesday, Bayern cruised to a 5-0 victory at Hamburg to move into their fifth straight German Cup semifinal (only the second club to accomplish that feat). And the icing on the cake? Bastian Schweinsteiger returned to the pitch after missing almost three months to injury. His return should soften the blow of Franck Ribery missing the first leg in the Arsenal tie.

Did anyone think Real would beat Atletico this emphatically in the Copa del Rey semifinals? You did? Lies! After Atletico won at the Bernabeu in their first match this season, Real responded in a big way the past two weeks and recouped city bragging rights. They’ve also got the most momentum in Spain at the moment, and are hitting their stride just in time for the Champions League. (Note: We don’t actually think you’re a liar)

Barcelona kept their slim La Liga lead in tact (on goal difference) with a 4-1 win at Sevilla, then cruised into the Copa del Rey final with a 3-1 aggregate win over Sociedad. They’ll now face Real Madrid in a dream final scheduled for mid-April. But the best news of the week? Neymar will make his return from injury against Rayo Vallecano this weekend, and should be good to go for the big Champions League match at the Etihad on Tuesday.

Only four Premier League teams have gained at least a point against the Blues since November 9, and 17th-placed West Brom did it twice. Go figure. Despite the hiccup on Tuesday, the Premier League leaders remain undefeated since the stunning League Cup loss to Sunderland in December, and head into the weekend’s FA Cup tie at Man City beaming with confidence. As they should; they just won at the Etihad barely two weeks ago.

City couldn’t take advantage of Arsenal and Chelsea’s slip-ups this week, but through no fault of their own. Mother Nature just wouldn’t let them, as their home match vs. Sunderland was called off due to weather. But the postponement might actually help City in the long run; the legs will be fresher for Chelsea on Saturday, and more importantly, Barcelona on Tuesday.

Are Atletico suddenly slipping? The Rojiblancos have lost three straight games for the first time since February 2011, and all on shutouts at that. There’s no shame in falling to Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey semifinals, but sandwiched between those losses was the upset at the hands of lowly Almeria. The slump couldn’t come at a worse time. Atletico resume play in the Champions League Wednesday at AC Milan. A week ago, they would be strongly favored. Now? We’re not so sure.

After tying up Monaco on the road last weekend, the Ligue 1 title remains PSG’s to lose. With no other rival within sight (Lille are a distant third, 11 points behind), even a five-point cushion over the Red and Whites seems to be enough unless Laurent Blanc’s men make their own lives more difficult. The true aim of the club – the Champions League – is now the focus, as PSG head to Leverkusen on Tuesday in the Round of 16.

Are Juve getting bored in Italy? You couldn’t blame them if they did, since the few times Juve drop points in Serie A, their closest competitors do as well. Their nine-point lead is intact despite giving away two points in the very last seconds against Hellas Verona. On the European front, the Old Lady begins its quest for a home final in the Europa League with the home leg against Turkish side Trabzonspor this Thursday.

Have the Gunners suddenly run out of ammo? After getting smoked 5-1 at Anfield by a Liverpool team that is sticking around in the Premier League title picture, Arsenal was held to a goalless draw at home by a Man United side that is very much out of the title picture. Not exactly how you want begin a murderer’s row of fixtures this month. After just one win in their past four (a home game vs. Crystal Palace), Wednesday’s opponent, Bayern Munich, must be licking their chops.

Welcome back to the club, lads. A 5-1 win over the (then) Premier League leaders will do that for you. The Reds are flying high on confidence and are hanging around in the title picture, which Brendan Rodgers even acknowledged just a week after saying his team had no chance. But with Daniel Sturridge continuing to terrorize defenses (six goals in the past five games), and with no European campaign to bog them down, Liverpool have two big advantages.
