Alex Morgan will miss the U.S. women's soccer team's training camp that starts Wednesday in Carson, Calif., because of a left ankle injury.

U.S. Soccer said Friday that Morgan, injured during training in San Antonio in October, has a stress reaction and will be in a protective boot for several weeks.

The team will open the season Jan. 31 against Canada in Frisco, Texas.
