Paris St Germain defender Maxwell has played down talk that Carlo Ancelotti's side is starting to look invincible ahead of Saturday's Ligue 1 clash against Sochaux.

PSG started the season with three consecutive draws but have subsequently enjoyed a quick upturn in form with wins over Lille, Toulouse, Bastia and Dynamo Kiev in the UEFA Champions League.

However, the 31-year-old left-back has dismissed talk that his team-mates are becoming an unbeatable force as they start to gather momentum.

"We have our feet firmly on the ground because we don't listen to those sort of comments anyway," Maxwell told www.psg.fr.

"There's no such thing as an invincible team, whether it be in France or anywhere else. We are focused on our work, and our aim of getting as many points as possible.

"We are very strong on our concentration to maintain this current dynamic.

"We want to develop a strong brand of football and we know we will have to fight hard to win back the points we dropped at the start of the season."

Maxwell missed out on a starting berth last weekend in the 4-0 win over Bastia as the competition for places hots up, but despite squad rotation, the Brazilian believes PSG are starting to click.

"I think we are progressing in terms of the team's balance, where we have improved markedly," he said.

"With each week and the passing matches, we are becoming more and more of a team.

"Every game is the chance to keep improving and become more and more competitive."

Sochaux will be looking to avoid another heavy defeat against the Parisian giants after they lost this fixture 6-1 back in April.

They are unlikely to make sweeping changes to their line-up after earning back-to-back wins against St Etienne and Troyes but Ryad Boudebouz could return after playing against Evian in the Coupe de la Ligue.
