UEFA has signed its first broadcasting deal for the 2015-18 Champions League seasons, with Qatar-based Al Jazeera.

UEFA says Al Jazeera has bought exclusive rights for the Middle East and North Africa across all media platforms.

The value of the deal, which includes rights for the second-tier Europa League competition, was not disclosed.

UEFA has said the Champions League will earn commercial revenue of at least 1.34 billion euros ($1.76 billion) annually in the current 2012-15 sales cycle.

Clubs taking part share around 1 billion euros ($1.32 billion) in prize money each season.

Europa League teams share more than 200 million euros ($263 million) annually.
