Southampton striker Dani Osvaldo has been suspended for three matches and fined 40,000 pounds ($65,000) for violent conduct during a Premier League match against Newcastle.

The 27-year-old Italian was charged by the Football Association for his angry reaction to Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin being shown a yellow card for a late tackle on Newcastle defender Massadio Haidara on Dec. 14.

Newcastle goalkeeping coach Andy Woodman has been fined 1,250 pounds ($2,000) for his role in the incident after he admitted to a charge of improper conduct.
