Ayr United's Michael Moffat has been accused by the Scottish Football Association of betting on six matches involving his own team.

The 28-year-old striker has been served with a notice of complaint after allegedly placing seven bets on six matches involving Ayr, as well as an additional 150 bets on other matches from February 2012.

Moffat has until next Tuesday to respond to the complaint. A date for his hearing has been set for Jan. 16

Ayr United plays in the third tier of Scottish football. Under the Scottish FA's disciplinary rules, players are not allowed to bet on football matches.
