Palermo and Lazio presidents banned

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini has been banned for a year and Lazio counterpart Claudio Lotito for 10 months for breaking rules in the transfer market.

Zamparini and Lotito can still direct their clubs during the bans, but they must appoint delegates to appear at Serie A and Italian football federation meetings.

Zamparini's ban stems from the purchase of Javier Pastore in 2009, while Lotito was sanctioned for deals for Mauro Zarate and Julio Ricardo Cruz in 2009.

Both Palermo and Lazio were fined ?80,000 ($106,000) by the federation's disciplinary commission.
