Germany to play Paraguay in friendly in August
Germany will meet Paraguay in a friendly in Kaiserslautern on Aug. 14.
Germany coach Joachim Loew says the game at the Fritz-Walter-Stadium ''is a welcome opportunity for us to adjust a little to the South American style of play in the year before the World Cup in Brazil.''
Loew expects ''quick, direct play and players with outstanding technical ability.''
Germany previously played Paraguay at the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea, where Oliver Neuville scored for a 1-0 win.
Paraguay players Nelson Valdez, Lucas Barrios and Roque Santa Cruz previously played in the Bundesliga.
Germany will play two World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan in March.
