Alessandro Matri has a point to prove at Fiorentina following a disappointing six months at AC Milan.

Matri moved to Milan in August from Juventus, and has joined Fiorentina on a loan deal.

On Thursday, Matri says ''I've made a big decision. I'm extremely motivated to get going again. I want to get back to playing my best football with Fiorentina.''

Fiorentina attracted Matri after its Serie A-leading goalscorer Giuseppe Rossi was injured. But the 29-year-old Matri has just one goal in 18 matches in all competitions.

He adds, ''I'm not bitter about anything. If I haven't done so well this season, I'm the one who's most to blame. It wasn't an easy six months.''

Matri has scored once in five appearances for Italy.
