Copenhagen, Juventus draw 1-1

Juventus needed a second-half equalizer from Fabio Quagliarella to earn a draw 1-1 at FC Copenhagen in their opening match in Champions League Group B on Tuesday.
Nicolai Jorgensen opened the scoring in the 14th minute following a free kick by Pierre Bengtsson. The home team was unfazed by hosting the Italian champions and kept the Turin side under pressure with a quick-passing game.
However, Quagliarella leveled in the 54th minute with a left-foot shot from a pass by Federico Peluso.
Juventus then had the better chances but Copenhagen goalkeeper Johan Wiland made some stunning saves to deny Argentina striker Carlos Tevez, Giorgio Chiellini and Paul Pogba.
''We're very disappointed,'' Quagliarella said. ''We lost two points tonight. We missed too many opportunities to score.'' Juventus had 23 attempts on goal to Copenhagen's eight.
''Our first half was okay, while we got under heavy pressure in the second,'' Copenhagen captain Lars Jacobsen said. ''However, we had a fantastic goalkeeper, and that is what you need in a match like this.''
Juventus pushed hard in the final minutes in search of a winner, with Arturo Vidal and substitute Sebastian Giovinco both having chances.
Juventus had traveled to Copenhagen after having played seven matches in 25 days, and three players were out with injuries. Coach Antonio Conte also decided to rest striker Marco Vucinic.
Copenhagen has yet to win at home this season and the 10-time Danish champion is 10th in the 12-team top flight.
Last month, the club fired coach Ariel Jacobs and re-signed former manager Stale Solbakken, hoping he could improve the team's fortunes.
