Barton summoned by FFF ethical committee

Joey Barton was summoned by the French Football Federation's ethical committee on Thursday after calling Paris Saint-Germain defender Thiago Silva an ''overweight ladyboy.''
Barton made the comment on his Twitter feed on Tuesday and continued to attack Silva the following day.
The Marseille midfielder faces a hearing on April 15.
Marseille released a statement apologizing for ''the inappropriate comments'' on Wednesday night.
''Marseille and Joey Barton have to apologize to Thiago Silva and his club for the comments made by the English footballer on social networks during the past 36 hours,'' the statement said.
''This morning the Marseille management asked Joey Barton to put an end to the attack on PSG's Brazilian defender. The Marseille midfielder pledged to immediately cease the posting of anything derogatory about Thiago Silva.''
PSG earlier branded the comments ''unacceptable'' and said it could take further action.
Barton was riled by comments earlier in the week by Silva alluding to the former England international.
''There is even a Marseille player, I cannot remember his name, an Englishman, who has said bad things about Neymar and Brazilian football, and also about (David) Beckham and (Zlatan Ibrahimovic),'' Silva said Monday. ''As no one is talking about him, it seems fun to him to criticize great players for people to know he exists.
''But it gives me much more desire to win to silence that Englishman. What does he know about Brazilian football? I don't remember having played against him in the national team.''
Barton responded by tweeting that Silva was ''Another over rated Brazilian. Sort your hamstrings out fat boy.''
He then made the ''overweight ladyboy'' comment after PSG's 2-2 draw with Barcelona in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals before continuing his rant on Tuesday morning with another series of tweets.
''2 questions for Thiago Silva. Firstly, Why are YOU talking about ME, in your press conference before PSG v Barca? Very strange,'' Barton tweeted.
