Bale grabs classy winner for Spurs at West Brom

Gareth Bale added another special goal to his collection by smashing home a second-half winner in Tottenham's 1-0 victory over 10-man West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Sunday.
Goran Popov's 48th-minute sending-off for spitting in the direction of Spurs defender Kyle Walker left West Brom a man down for most of the second half, and Bale made the hosts pay by scoring from outside the area in the 68th.
''I'm absolutely disgusted with Goran's behavior,'' West Brom manager Steve Clarke said. ''One of the group has let the players down. It changed the whole complexion of the game.''
Tottenham moved within a point of third-placed Chelsea in the fight for the remaining Champions League spots behind the Manchester clubs, and is proving to be heavily reliant on Bale.
The Wales winger took his tally for the campaign to 11 goals, with his latest coming five days after a spectacular solo goal salvaged a 1-1 draw at Norwich.
''It's massive,'' Bale said. ''We spoke before the game because other results went our way yesterday and that gave us a big chance to capitalise. Thankfully we did.
''I think all the lads worked very hard and they deserved the victory.''
Spurs lost Jermain Defoe to a left ankle injury in the first half, leaving them without a fit striker as Emmanuel Adebayor is still at the African Nations Cup with Togo.
