Papiss Cisse is understood to have resolved his dispute with Newcastle United over shirt sponsors Wonga.

Papiss Cisse left Newcastle's preseason tour over their new kit sponsor. The FOX Soccer Blog crew discusses his decision and more.

The striker had refused to wear the shirt bearing the name of the online loan company, claiming their business conflicted with his Muslim beliefs, as earning interest is forbidden by Islamic Law.

But Newcastle are now believed to have reached an agreement with the 28-year-old forward to settle the disagreement.

Cisse is now expected to rejoin the squad for full training on Friday having missed last week's tour of Portugal over the issue.

The Senegal international played a crucial role in helping Newcastle stay in the Premier League last season, scoring six goals in a nine-game run from February to take his tally for the season to 13 in all competitions.
