Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is refusing to rule out the possibility of signing club great Thierry Henry on loan for the second straight season.

"I've not lost interest in him," Wenger told reporters. "I've not completely [ruled it out]. But I haven't spoken about it with him at all. He's still coming today to practice with us. We are very close, but at the moment I think he has had a second spell at the club that was very successful. You have to be cautious that it's not one time too many."

Henry spent two months on loan at the Barclays Premier League side midway through last season, scoring two goals - both game winners. He scored a club-record 226 goals with Arsenal from 1999-2007.

The 35-year-old Henry is currently training with Arsenal during the offseason in Major League Soccer, where he plays for the New York Red Bulls.

According to reports, Arsenal have yet to contact New York about a possible loan move for the club legend. New York Red Bulls' sporting director Andy Roxburgh seemed reluctant to approve the potential loan move.

“It depends on the individual. It depends on the circumstances. You cannot say never on that one, but it's unlikely. It's unlikely at the moment that that would happen.’’

Roxburg added: “Right now we don't have any requests for that. No one has requested for anyone to go on loan. If such a request came in, then we would have review each one,’’ said Roxburgh. “It could be that something that can be helpful. The player has been injured and they need to come back in a competitive arena. It's possible.
