Van Bommel wants Spurs move

Mark van Bommel's agent claims the PSV Eindhoven midfielder wants a move to the Premiership with . The Holland international has been linked with a move to England in recent seasons with and the main suitors, although a host of top European clubs have been trailing him as well. was linked with the 26-year-old as recently as last week and the player's representative Karel Jansen has revealed that his client is keen on a move to White Hart Lane. Jansen told BBC Sport: "Mark wants to move to the Premiership and have been to watch him along with a few other English clubs. "I think he would like to join a club like , with great tradition and lots of very good players." Jansen admits Van Bommel will likely leave the Dutch outfit at the end of the season after five years at the club and that the player would prefer to play in the Premier League even though the north London club is not in Europe. "The Premiership is Mark's favoured destination. I think it's likely he will leave in the summer, though you never can tell in football," Jansen added. "It doesn't matter too much that are unlikely to be in Europe. When you are playing in a league like the Premiership you've got great games every week. "We know lots of clubs have been watching him very closely and there has been contact but no firm offers, so we'll wait and see what happens."
