Tiago received a new three-year deal to make the move over from Benfica, just hours after Drogba signed with the club. Both players traveled with their new Chelsea teammates to the United States to play in the club's upcoming exhibition tour. Tiago joins new coach Jose Mourinho and Drogba at Chelsea. Mourinho, who coached Porto to the Champions League title last season, watched Tiago and Benfica defeat them in the final of the Portuguese Cup, denying the Portuguese League champions of a second consecutive treble. The 23-year-old Tiago was on Portugal's Euro 2004 squad this summer. He passed a physical with Chelsea on Monday and finalized personal terms on the deal late Tuesday night. Mourinho has now successfully turned over a team that finished second in the table to Arsenal last season. Several key contributors such as Jesper Gronkjaer, Hernan Crespo and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink have since been exiled from the club during a hectic summer, replaced by younger, faster players such as Petr Cech, Arjen Robben, Paulo Ferreira, Mateja Kezman, and now Drogba and Tiago.
