Juan Mata insists Chelsea must win their next two games to have any hope of qualifying for next season's Champions League.
The Blues face testing Premier League clashes against Manchester United on Sunday before the visit of London neighbours Tottenham on Wednesday.
And despite having already booked their place in the Europa League final against Benfica in Amsterdam later this month, Spain star Mata says the club must focus their attentions on qualifying for Europe's elite competition.
He told the Daily Star: "We have to get in the top four. We have to win these two games.
"We want Champions League football next season. After that we can try to win another trophy.
"There are two tough games ahead. Playing Tottenham is going to be like a final because both teams will be fighting for the same thing.
"If we can beat Tottenham it will be a big step forward.
"But before that we have to think about Manchester United."
The Uruguay international striker will miss Sunday's derby against Everton because of the incident at Anfield in April.
But the 26-year-old, who has scored 30 goals for the club this campaign, is determined to remain on Merseyside.
With his contract not expiring until 2017, Suarez insists that he has given no thought to leaving in the summer
"I have a deal with Liverpool and this is my present - and future," said Suarez, quoted in The Sun.
"From the day I arrived, I saw how special this derby is, so it is a pain to miss it.
"But we have a big squad which can function without me."
