Cole Grossman scored in stoppage time to give Real Salt Lake a draw against the Portland Timbers on Wednesday to retain the Major League Soccer lead.

MLS's newest superstar draws all the attention, and with good reason.

Grossman's goal came after Kalif Alhassan scored in the 86th minute to give Portland the lead. With the draw, the Timbers pulled even with the Colorado Rapids for second place in the Western Conference standings.

The Timbers went ahead in the 24th minute with Rodney Wallace's header off a free kick from Valeri.

Veteran defender Nat Borchers equalized it at 1-1 for Salt Lake in the 38th minute.

Javier Morales' penalty in the 43rd minute gave Real Salt Lake a 2-1 lead.

Portland leveled the score at 2-2 with a penalty by Valeri in the 57th minute after Morales was shown a yellow-card

Playing a man down after Yordany Alvarez was shown a red card, Grossman scored the first MLS goal of his career when Portland appeared to let down its guard in stoppage time.

Chivas USA 1, FC Dallas 3

David Ferreira and Ramon Nunez scored in the final four minutes as FC Dallas ended an 11-match winless streak with a victory at Chivas USA.

Chivas opened the scoring in the 43rd minute when newly signed Bryan de la Fuente beat Raul Fernandez from close range.

FC Dallas equalized in the 71st, when Fabian Castillo found Blas Perez open outside the area and Perez fired a shot that deflected off Chivas defender Mario de Luna and past Dan Kennedy into the goal.

FC Dallas' Jackson was sent off in the 81st minute after receiving his second yellow card.

Ferreria scored the winner in the 86th minute, racing into the penalty area and beating Kennedy for his second goal of the season. Nunez fired an 18-yard shot into the back of the net in the 90th minute to seal the win.
