Second-half substitute Tommy Heinemann's goal in stoppage time lifted the Vancouver Whitecaps to a 2-2 draw with Chivas USA on Sunday night.

Gershon Koffie also scored for Vancouver (10-9-7), which rallied from two goals down.

''It's good to get a point, but ultimately, I think we're all really disappointed that we didn't win,'' Heinemann said.

Erick Torres scored both goals for Chivas USA (5-14-7), giving him four goals in his last two games. The 20-year-old has six goals in seven career MLS games.

Torres put the Goats ahead 1-0 in the third minute, scoring on a bicycle kick from 13 yards out. He then doubled the lead in 14th with a header of a well-placed cross from Edgar Meja.

''I'm happy with the development of Chivas in the game, but angry for the result because 2-0 was a big opportunity to win the game,'' Chivas coach Jose Luis Real said. ''Maybe two mistakes in defense and we lost the opportunity to get our second win (in a row).''

Koffie got the Whitecaps on the scoreboard in the 64th.

Heinemann scored his first goal of the season as he volleyed Erik Hurtado's diving header home just moments before the final whistle.

''It means a lot,'' Heinemann said of the goal. ''I'm excited to get my first one in front of the home fans. It's just an incredible atmosphere to play in. I think tonight (fans) deserve more, but at least we got one (point).''

Camilo started for Vancouver after sitting out the previous game against Los Angeles due to a slight groin strain.

Whitecaps coach Martin Rennie elected to go with a 4-4-2 formation as he gave 18-year-old rookie midfielder Kekuta Manneh a rare start on the right wing due with Nigel Reo-Coker serving a one-game suspension for taking his eighth yellow card.
