Leon put one foot in the final of the Apertura play-offs as they beat Santos Laguna 3-1 in the first leg of their last-four tie.

The hosts were two up by half-time thanks to Jose Vazquez (34) and Carlos Pena(42), before substitute Franco Hurtado added a third 20 minutes from the end.

Orozco Penuelas pulled one back in the closing moments for Santos Laguna to keep his side in the tie.

Edgar Benitez scored a second-half winner as Toluca came from behind to beat Club America 2-1.

Luis Rey put the visitors ahead just after the half-hour mark, but Isaac Brizuela leveled four minutes into the second period and Benitez netted six minute later to give Toluca the advantage heading into the second leg.
