Tigres Monterrey passed up the chance to move top of the fledgling Mexican Apertura standings on Saturday as they could only manage a 2-2 home draw against second-bottom Queretaro.

The hosts required a 79th-minute equaliser from Juninho to salvage even a point after Hugo Ayala's own goal and an Emmanuel Tapia strike had turned the match in the lowly visitors' favour following Lucas Lobos' 48th-minute opener.

The result kept Tigres unbeaten but they remained a point behind leaders Leon after four games.

The other three matches in the Mexican top flight on Saturday also finished in draws.

Pachuca twice came from behind to secure a 2-2 scoreline at home to fifth-placed Tijuana.

Pablo Aguilar and Fernando Arce were on target for the visitors, who had substitute Fidel Martinez sent off in the 82nd minute, with Felix Borja and Nery Castillo restoring parity for the hosts.

Rubens Sambueza earned Club America a 1-1 tie against Atlas, cancelling out Hugo Rodrigues' strike on the stroke of half-time.

San Luis substitute Luis Rodriguez needed only two minutes to make a goalscoring impact after his half-time introduction against Monterrey, getting his team back on level terms after Humberto Suazo had given the visitors a ninth-minute lead.

Monterrey lost Cesar Delgado to a red card 20 minutes into the second half but San Luis could not capitalise on their extra man and remained searching for their first win of the campaign.
