Colombia 2-0 Paraguay

Radamel Falcao scored two second-half goals as Colombia defeated Paraguay 2-0 on Friday in South American World Cup qualifying.

The Atletico de Madrid forward scored in the 52nd minute and added another in the 88th.

The victory improved Colombia to 16 points in eight matches - among the leaders in the qualifying group - and left Paraguay with only four points from five matches, the worst record among the nine teams.

Paraguay has qualified for the last four World Cups and reached the quarterfinals in 2010 at South Africa.

Bolivia 1-1 Peru

Bolivia rallied for a 1-1 draw against Peru on Friday, earning a point in South American qualifying that did little for either of the two struggling teams.

Alejandro Chumacero of Bolivia scored in the 51st minute to level the match in the thin air of La Paz.

Peru took the lead in the 21st on a sensational goal, a 30-meter strike by Juan Carlos Marino.

Bolivia has only five points from eight matches, and Peru has eight after eight games. Both teams are underdogs to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, trailing top teams like Colombia and Argentina.
