Boca Juniors, Newell's Old Boys win
Boca Juniors and Newell's Old Boys each recorded their first win in the Torneo Clausura on Sunday evening, beating Estudiantes and Atletico Rafaela respectively.
Emanuel Gigliotti's goal was enough for Boca, who went into the game with only one point from three matches, to win 1-0 and end Estudiantes' perfect start to the campaign.
Newell's were a point better off beforehand and emphatically saw off Rafaela 4-1.
Milton Casco and Fabian Munoz struck in the first nine minutes and, although Diego Vera pulled one back from a penalty, second-half goals from Victor Figueroa and Maximiliano Rodriguez made the win safe.
San Lorenzo and Colon Santa Fe, by contrast, have started the season well and moved alongside beaten Estudiantes at the summit on nine points.
Ignacio Piatti scored the only goal in the former's win over Quilmes while Colon beat River Plate 3-1.
Gabriel Graciani and Carlos Luque put them 2-0 up and, after Fernando Cavenaghi pulled one back, Graciani scored again to leave Colon top of the standings on goals scored.
