Javier Hernández once again displayed his flair for the dramatic over the weekend. The prolific striker climbed off the bench to replace Ashley Young at halftime of Manchester United's 3-2 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday and promptly restored normal operating procedure. Chicharito continued his recent run of torrid form by scoring twice – including the winner three minutes from time – to ensure United did not drop points at Villa Park.

Chicharito's heroics topped a fairly prolific weekend for Mexicans Abroad. Read on to find out who else joined Hernández on the scoresheet during the latest set of fixtures.

Chicharito extended his run of consecutive appearances of matches with a goal to five, notching a pair of tallies in the 3-2 victory over Aston Villa on Saturday. Hernandez sliced into the two-goal deficit on 58 minutes and spared United a humbling draw by popping up to head home the winner in the 87th minute. The 24-year-old striker has now scored nine goals in his past eight games in all competitions.

Vela opened the scoring in the first minute of Sociedad's surprising 2-1 win at Málaga on Saturday. The exiled winger tucked home a Diego Ifrán service after just 46 seconds to notch his third goal of the campaign. Javier Saviola equalized for the home side after 37 minutes, but Xabi Prieto struck early in the second half to give Sociedad a first win in five attempts.

The tricky left winger posed problems throughout Valencia's 1-1 draw at Real Valladolid on Sunday. Guardado provided the cross for Aly Cissokho's opener after a quarter of an hour. He then fired an effort just wide and supplied a cross for Roberto Soldado to turn home only to see the effort ruled out for offside. Guardado couldn't muster up a winner after Victor Perez's equalizer in the 65th minute as 10-man Valencia settled for a share of the spoils.

Another shocking setback may have called time on Márquez's spell in MLS. New York suffered a 1-0 home defeat to D.C. United on Thursday night to crash out of the competition in the Eastern Conference semifinals. The departures of coach Hans Backe and general manager/sporting director Erik Solér and the persistent controversies swirling around the former Mexico captain raise questions about Márquez's long-term future with the club. If he does seek a move, then he may look to return to Mexico to wind up his career in Liga MX.
