Ajaccio goalkeeper Guillermo Ochoa confirmed the persistent rumors last week: English giants Liverpool have expressed interest in his services. Ochoa prompted that inquiry and the mooted overtures from other top European sides with his performances in Ligue 1 this season. Ochoa told several French outlets that a move could take place in the summer if the involved parties reach an agreement.

Ten-man Lille leaned on a pair of second-half goals by Dimitri Payet to dispatch Ajaccio 3-1 on Saturday. The visitors opened the scoring through a Yoann Poulard own goal eight minutes before halftime and consolidated their advantage after the interval when Payet pounced twice in seven minutes. Chahir Belghazouani responded for the home side in the final quarter of an hour to reduce the arrears. Ochoa made three saves in Ajaccio's first league defeat in seven outings.

Dos Santos scored the opener for relegation-threatened Mallorca, but Getafe scored three times in the final 20 minutes to claim a 3-1 away victory on Saturday. Giovani thumped home in the 24th minute to place Mallorca on its way to a rare triumph. A controversial penalty award after 71 minutes altered the course of the match and inspired the visitors to press onwards to secure the points.

Aquino made his second straight appearance off the bench in the 1-1 home draw with Las Palmas on Sunday. The right winger replaced Moisés after 73 minute as Villarreal went in search for the winner. It never arrived as the promotion hopeful settled for a point at El Madrigal. Villarreal now trails Sabadell – home to Mexico youth international Ulises Dávila – by one point in the playoff chase.

Vela scored the third and final goal for Sociedad as the visitors claimed a 3-1 derby victory at Athletic Bilbao on Friday. Antoine Griezmann and Imanol Agirretxe issued the first two responses to Ibai Gomez's opener on the half hour before Vela sealed the points with his 11th goal of the campaign. The victory marked Sociedad's first triumph at San Mames since 2001 and sustained the push for a European place next season.

The stalwart defender conceded the decisive penalty in Atletico Madrid's 1-0 victory over Espanyol at the Vicente Calderon on Saturday. Moreno felled Diego Costa to prompt Falcao's spot kick after 38 minutes. Espanyol played the second half with an extra man after Gabi picked up his second booking on the stroke of halftime, but Javier Aguirre's side could not produce the equalizer. The setback marked Espanyol's first defeat since falling to Barcelona on Jan. 6.
