Usain Bolt: Ronaldo better than Messi
The world’s fastest man says there’s no doubt about who's the world’s greatest soccer player.
“There’s no doubt,” Bolt continued. “I would give the Ballon D’Or to Cristiano. He has managed to stay on top, and that’s the most difficult thing.”
Bolt also took some credit for Ronaldo’s form at Real Madrid, claiming he taught him his sprinting technique.
Bolt, who collected three gold medals at the London Olympics in the 100 meters, 200 and 4x100 relay, might have a reason for wading into the eternal Ronaldo-Messi debate: He is a lifelong Manchester United fan and has been linked with an Old Trafford trial in recent weeks.
Early this week, Bolt told the Sun, “People think I am joking. But if Alex Ferguson called me up and said, ‘OK, let’s do this, come and have a trial,’ it would be impossible for me to say no.
“I would not take up the challenge if I didn’t think I was good enough. I am a very accomplished player and know I could make a difference.”
Bolt got the support of at least one United player, with Rio Ferdinand tweeting that he “would speak to the boss.”
Bolt added that if United worked on its “sprinting technique,” the team would be “unstoppable.”
