Valencia won over its disgruntled fans with a fine 5-1 victory over Swiss side St. Gallen. Valencia was stunned by a 3-0 defeat to Swansea in its opening Europa League match but recovered with a 2-0 win at Kuban Krasnodar on matchday two.

It is now just one point behind Swansea after a late goal saw the English Premier League side held to 1-1 by Kuban Krasnodar, which had no points and had not even scored heading into the match.

Trabzonspor moved above Lazio to claim top spot after three games in Group J with a 2-0 home win over Legia Warsaw, who remain pointless at the bottom of the group.

Marc Janko and Olcan Adin scored for the hosts, taking them to seven points while Lazio were held to a goalless draw away to Cypriot side Apollon.

Alvaro Vadillo scored in the 50th minute to give Real Betis their first win in Group I against Vitoria Guimaraes, who had started the night on top of the group but slipped to third.

Lyon went top after maintaining their unbeaten record with a 1-0 home win over Rijeka courtesy of a 67th-minute strike from Clement Grenier.

In Group L, PAOK hit back from two goals down to claim a dramatic 3-2 victory over Israeli side Maccabi Haifa in Salonika.

Early goals from Dino Ndlovu and Eyal Golasa looked set to steer the visitors to their first win in the group but Miguel Vitor and Sotiris Ninis levelled the score before half-time and Dimitris Salpigidis netted a 66th-minute winner.

Earlier in the same group, Dutch side AZ were held to a 1-1 draw in Kazakhstan by Shakhter Karagandy, who opened the scoring through Andrei Finonchenko before Johann Gudmundsson equalised.

Sevilla lost their 100 per cent record in Group H but salvaged a point at Slovan Liberec through an 88th-minute strike from Vitolo.

Michael Rabusic put the hosts in front in the 20th minute but goalkeeper Premysl Kovar was sent off 12 minutes from time.

In the same group Freiburg and Estoril also drew 1-1, Vladimir Darida opening the scoring for the Germans before Seba equalised early in the second half.

Goals from Andriy Yarmolenko, Dieumerci Mbokani and Oleg Gusev gave Dynamo Kiev a 3-0 win over Thun in Group G, while Genk and Rapid Vienna drew 1-1.

Bordeaux picked up its first points of the campaign as Carlos Henrique headed home in the final minute to hand the French side a 2-1 win over Apoel Nicosia.

Ludogorets Razgrad has also yet to concede after the Bulgarian team won 1-0 at Chornomorets Odesa.

Fiorentina, which came back from two goals down to beat Juventus 4-2 in Serie A at the weekend, comfortably beat Romanian side Pandurii Targu-Jiu 3-0 to maintain its status as one of the competition favorites.

Joaquin opened the scoring in the 26th minute after skipping past two defenders and forcing his way into the area. Ryder Matos doubled Fiorentina's lead eight minutes later before Juan Cuadrado sealed the result in the 69th, squeezing a powerful strike in between the goalkeeper and the near post.

Oleksandr Yakovenko also hit the crossbar for Fiorentina, while Cuadrado fired off the upright in stoppage time.

''We're not running away with the group but we've almost qualified for the next round,'' Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella said. ''But we want top spot so we avoid drawing a Champions League team in the knockout stages.

''When you come off the back of a victory like the one against Juventus, it's not easy to remain focused. But we managed to and we showed that on the pitch tonight. We want to grow more.''
