Bristol City will play Rangers in a friendly in the build-up to the League One season.
Ally McCoist's men, who romped to the Scottish Third Division title last season, will travel to Ashton Gate for a 12:30pm kick-off on Saturday July 13 and will be handed 4,000 tickets for the match.
Head coach Sean O'Driscoll told the club's official website: "It's a great pre-season fixture for us to play a club of Rangers' size and history and adds an extra dimension to our pre-season programme.
"Glasgow Rangers always attract a massive following wherever they play and a big crowd at Ashton Gate will add to our preparations for the coming season."
After welcoming Rangers the Robins will also welcome Reading to Ashton Gate as they prepare for life in the third tier.
The 23-year-old, who also counts Rotherham, Macclesfield and Grimsby among his former clubs, spent last season in the north west with Bury.
Marshall revealed former Millers team-mate and Shrimps fans' favourite Kevin Ellison was an influence on his decision to join Jim Bentley's squad.
"The gaffer really sold the club to me when I met him and I can't wait to get going," said Marshall on Morecambe's official website.
"I played with Kevin Ellison at Rotherham and he said this was a great club to be at and everything I have seen so far points to that.
"I had a disappointing season with Bury and I am just looking to start playing regularly again and enjoy my football and I am really looking forward to pre-season training and meeting the lads next week."
