On-loan striker Wes Thomas wants to make his move to Birmingham permanent.
The 26-year-old signed from npower League One Bournemouth until the end of the season on transfer deadline day and made his debut in the 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest at the weekend.
The former Cheltenham striker scored three goals for both Portsmouth and Blackpool during earlier loan spells this season but now wants to settle at St Andrew's.
He said: "It comes down to how I perform. Hopefully I can put in the results to win a contract here.
"I would be buzzing if I was able to stay here.
"I think if this club can sort out the problems it's got, it would be a massive club to sign for."
The striker suffered an injury during the 2-1 defeat at Bristol Rovers in League Two and could be doubtful for Saturday's clash with leaders Port Vale.
But Davids has revealed fellow forward Jake Hyde and midfielder Curtis Weston, who missed out on Friday night, should be fit by the weekend.
"Jake is doing well and I believe he will be back next week to face Port Vale, but I believe that we have played well in his absence," said Davids.
"Ricky Holmes fell awkwardly on his ankle and he will have a scan on Monday and Curtis Weston did not travel because he was ill."
