Moore: It's self destruction

Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore believes his side shot themselves in the foot as they suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of Swindon.

Two second-half goals from James Collins and Gary Roberts gave the visitors a comfortable lead in Tuesday night's League One clash at Prenton Park, but Donervon Daniels looked to have set up a nervy finale when he struck with 12 minutes remaining.

But Roberts then netted from inside his own half after goalkeeper Owain fon Williams had gone forward for a corner to leave Tranmere in the bottom play-off spot.

"It's self destruction," Moore said. "We've lost the game because we've made silly wrong decisions.

"The goalkeeper makes a mistake for the first then he gives them the third with a miss-kick straight to the lad who to be fair smashes it from 50-60 yards and it goes in. It's frustrating for everybody, there's no doubt about that.

"It's serious for us. We need to get back to winning ways. One or two in the crowd were having a go and you can understand why.

"They are frustrated. But what they've got to realise is that that team that's played here is seven players short of what the team has been.

"Where we've been and where we are is basically down to those seven lads. I don't think Man United can carry seven, never mind Tranmere Rovers.

"When we've got our full 11 out, we're a match for anybody in the league, but at the moment we haven't got that. People need to look at the whole picture."
