Peterborough midfielder Grant McCann has had productive talks about extending his stay at London Road.
McCann, made available for transfer last summer, is set to see his existing deal expire next month.
The 33-year-old Northern Ireland international has been offered new terms following the club's relegation from the npower Championship.
After talks with director of football Barry Fry and chief executive Bob Symns on Thursday, McCann tweeted: "Good discussions today with Barry and Bob regarding my future at Peterborough.
"I'm very flattered by the chairman's comments about me."
