Dave Jones is readying himself for a 'manic' summer at Sheffield Wednesday, with plenty of comings and goings expected.

The Owls boss is prepared to admit that he will be letting players leave in order to free up funds and space in his squad for additions.

Everyone in the Hillsborough camp will, however, be given every chance to prove their worth and will be treated with the utmost respect whether they stay or go.

David Prutton and Giles Coke have shown what can be achieved with a bit of patience - having seemingly been out of favour only to then earn new deals.

Jones has pointed to the pair as examples to the rest of his players, with it up to them to prove that they are deserving of a future at Wednesday.

He said in the Sheffield Star: "My priority is to get the players ready for the start of the season and make sure we get the right players out.

"In the next few weeks it's going to be manic because now it really starts."

Jones says 'not that many' players will be leaving, but concedes: "I will be looking at getting people out, as otherwise we'll be overloaded in certain areas and it enables me to bring in those players I am targeting.

"But the players here are our players and will be treated with the respect they deserve.

"If moves for any of them don't materialise, they're still under contract to us. And look what happened with Cokey and Pruts.

"We let them out on loan and were looking to offload them, all of a sudden they got an opportunity here and they staked their claim. That's because they kept themselves mentally and physically fit."
