Vanishing spray gets go-ahead
Referees in the Champions League and Europa League next season will use vanishing spray to mark a line which players in a wall must remain behind for a free-kick if a trial this summer proves successful.
UEFA will test the spray at the European Under-17 Championship in May and, if there are no issues, will then implement it for its other competitions from next season.
The spray, which aims to stop players encroaching on the 10-yard gap at free-kicks, disappears after a minute and has been widely used in South American football.
Meanwhile, UEFA's executive committee has decided to expand the number of teams in the European Under-21 finals from eight to 12 from 2017.
