Juventus coach Antonio Conte insists his team did not underestimate FC Copenhagen in Tuesday night's Champions League Group B opener.

The Italian champions trailed 1-0 at half-time after Nicolai Jorgensen had put the hosts in front before Fabio Quagliarella scored after the re-start to save Juve's blushes.

"No-one has underestimated them," Conte told Gazzetta dello Sport.

"Copenhagen came out really focused and did not allow us to play our game.

"We are saddened with this result. A win here would have been fantastic, especially considering what happened in the other group game.

"But in order to win games you have to score."

Galatasaray were thumped 6-1 at home by Real Madrid in the other game and Conte's side will host them next on October 2.

Conte will be hoping for better efficiency in front of goal then after Juve created enough chances to win in Denmark.

Copenhagen goalkeeper Johan Wiland made 11 saves on the night to deny the Italians three points.

"Since I took over Juve, we have never had so many goalscoring opportunities," Conte said.

"I don't know who said that their goalkeeper was going through a crisis.

"In the second half, when we found more space, we had those opportunities where our strikers failed to beat the keeper on a one-on-one."
