Report: Heat 2013 opener, Christmas Day matchups set

The Sun Sentinel is reporting the Heat will open the 2013-14 season at home against the Bulls.

The Miami Heat will open the 2013-14 NBA season at home against the Chicago Bulls on Oct. 29, according to a Sun Sentinel report.

The paper also reports the Heat will play on Christmas Day for the fifth straight season, visiting the Los Angeles Lakers.

The complete NBA season schedule is expected to be released next week.

The Heat ousted the Bulls 4-1 in the second round of the 2013 playoffs, but Chicago was without Derrick Rose, who would be expected to make his debut in the opener after missing the entire 2012-13 season.

The Lakers and Heat would be meeting on Christmas for the fifth time. The Heat have won the four previous Christmas Day matchups against the Lakers, including three times in L.A. Overall, the Heat are 7-2 in Christmas games.
