The Marlins recalled right-handed reliever Carter Capps from Triple-A New Orleans Wednesday morning.
Capps was 0-1 with a 1.64 ERA in seven minor-league outings. In 11 innings he allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits with 17 strikeouts and six walks.
The 23-year-old, who was acquired from the Mariners for Logan Morrison this past offseason, worked on a new delivery during spring training as he gave up runs in three of his eight appearances. He struck out eight, walked five and hit two batters.
Last night, Miami optioned right-handed reliever Arquimedes Caminero to the Zephyrs.
Caminero went 0-1 with a 13.50 ERA in five games since being recalled April 9, allowing seven runs on six hits in 4 2/3 frames. He surrendered a walk-off two-run homer to Braves catcher Evan Gattis in the 10th inning on Monday.
