SUNRISE, Fla. — When you are 9 years old and want the face of the Florida Panthers to sign your jersey, who do you turn to?
The face on the television screen.
That’s exactly what one of the children in Steve Goldstein’s neighborhood did. The Panthers broadcaster recently discovered a small package on his doorstep. Inside the plastic bag was a full-page letter with kind words for star rookie Jonathan Huberdeau and the kid’s personalized No. 11 jersey for the winger to sign.
The rookie, who got a laugh out of his the kid signing his letter “the real number 11,” happily obliged.
