Florida State remains at No. 8 in the polls while Miami moved up on Sunday afternoon.
The Hurricanes (3-0) are now 15th in both polls after a resounding 77-7 win over Savannah State in which Miami ran for 324 yards.
Florida (2-1) fell a spot to No. 19 in the coaches poll and slipped a spot to No. 20 in the AP poll after opening SEC play with a 31-17 win at home over Tennessee. The Gators rallied around backup quarterback Tyler Murphy after losing Jeff Driskel to injury early in the game. Florida ran for 215 yards.
Florida State (3-0) stays at No. 8 after a 54-6 rout of Bethune in which the Seminoles ran for 266 yards.
Alabama is still No. 1 in both polls, followed by Oregon. The AP has Clemson at No. 3, followed by Ohio State and Stanford. The coaches place Ohio State at No. 3, then Clemson and Stanford.
Florida State hits the road to play Boston College on Saturday. Florida will likely start Murphy at Kentucky. And Miami will visit South Florida.
