TAMPA, Fla. — On Monday, September 16, at 10:30 p.m., Sun Sports, the statewide television home of the Tampa Bay Rays, will premiere the next episode of “Inside the Rays” upon the conclusion of the Rays vs. Texas Rangers game. Titled “Pitching In,” this episode will provide viewers with an in-depth look at the Rays charitable efforts, which are driven in part by the outstanding work and time given by Rays employees.
Hosted by Todd Kalas, fans will see the inner workings of the team’s Employee Community Outreach Team program, known as ECOT. Established in April of 2008, ECOT provides invaluable, voluntary man hours to community service agencies that enhance or improve the quality of life in the communities they serve. ECOT serves as team building for employees, uniting various departments of the organization for a common purpose. Service projects are chosen from ideas suggested by employees. Employee volunteering not only benefits the community and the Rays organization, but also, provides employees with opportunities to improve leadership skills and explore new areas of interest, while working alongside fellow employees from other departments.
The Ronald McDonald House, Feeding America Tampa Bay, the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, Suncoast Daycare Center and Medical Clinic and the Homeless Emergency Project are just a few of the organizations where Rays employees contribute their time and effort. Rays President Matt Silverman, Senior Vice President of Business Operations Brian Auld, Director of Human Resources Jennifer Lyn Tran, Manager of Community Relations Jamie Schaefer, as well as numerous employees and charitable organization leaders and recipients will be featured throughout the show.
