FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Talk about the one for fun! On Aug. 5, 2013, the FOX Sports 1 Fan Express launched an epic road trip with the FOX Sports Girls to promote the premiere of America’s newest national sports network.
The trip started its voyage in San Diego, Calif., and will make various stops across the country, visiting ballparks, army bases and arenas, until it parks in Boston, Mass., for the launch of FOX Sports 1 on Aug. 17. Our very own Jordana will be joining the fun on Sunday, Aug. 11, hopping aboard the FOX Sports 1 Fan Express in St. Louis, Mo. And even though she will be traveling through several states, she will be representing Florida the whole time.
The first event Jordana will attend during the trip is a home game at the St. Louis Cardinals ballpark. From there, the Girls will travel to Fort Campbell, Ky., to visit an army base.
“I hope the highlight of my trip will be getting to show my appreciation for the troops,” Jordana said. “It’s important to me to let them know how thankful everyone is for their service.”
At the base, the Girls will participate in physical training, a youth clinic and an obstacle course before dining with the troops.
The fun continues as the next few days on the FOX Sports 1 Fan Express include a viewing party for the Reds game in Cincinnati, a Detroit Tigers home game, a New England Patriots home game, a New York Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park and a UFC Fight at TD Garden.
Although she may be far from home, Jordana is looking forward to showing off her Sunshine State pride — and even doing a little trash talk with the Girls along the way.
“It doesn’t matter what state I’m in, I’ll be representing Florida the whole way,” Jordana said. “I’m a Florida girl at heart, so you know I’ll be cheering on my Tampa Bay Rays at the Tigers game in what is hopefully an American League playoffs preview or the Miami Dolphins while I’m watching the Pats. It will also be a lot of fun ‘trash talking’ the other FOX Sports Girls on the bus. We’re all so passionate about our teams, so we get really competitive.”
But don’t worry Girls, it’s all in good fun. Jordana adds that she loves being able to spend time with the other regions.
“I’ve felt a connection with every girl from the day we met,” Jordana said. “I feel like they’re my sisters and representing FOX Sports together is a thrill.”
FOX Sports 1 focuses on the fan and the fun. The national 24-hour network will air college games, NASCAR races, UFC fights and a slew of new shows including FOX Sports LIVE and FOX Football Daily. Jordana promises that the new station will give fans a fresh feel to sports coverage and, if you keep watching, you might just see her and Annilie one day.
“For those of you asking if Annilie and I will be making an appearance on the network — you’ll just have to watch and see,” Jordana said.
