Evan Longoria fourth among AL 3B in All-Star balloting

Tampa Bay's Evan Longoria, a three-time All-Star, ranks fourth among 3B in this year's balloting.

Evan Longoria is one of the American League's top All-Star Game vote-getters.

The Tampa Bay Rays' third baseman, with 454,047 votes, ranks fourth in AL All-Star Game balloting at his position in the first update released Monday. The Detroit Tigers' Miguel Cabrera (1,500,165 votes), Baltimore Orioles' Manny Machado (723,943) and Texas Rangers' Adrian Beltre (600,271) are the top-three vote-getters among third basemen.

Longoria, a three-time All-Star, is hitting .305 with 10 home runs and 34 RBI. He is the only Rays player to be among the top-five vote-getters at any position.

Fans can vote online for starters at the official MLB web site until 11:59 p.m. ET July 4. The American League and National League rosters will be released July 7. The All-Star Game will be held July 16 at Citi Field.
