The Miami Dolphins have named Eric Stokes assistant general manager, it was announced Thursday.
Stokes comes to Miami from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he was director of college scouting the past two years.
He will assist general manager Dennis Hickey, who had been the Buccaneers director of player personnel before joining the Dolphins in January.
"Eric is an experienced and accomplished talent evaluator with a proven record of success at various levels of professional football and we are thrilled to have him join the Dolphins," Hickey said.
"I have been fortunate to have worked with Eric in the past, he is known throughout the NFL as a well-respected forward thinker with strong leadership qualities who will be a great addition to our personnel staff and our organization."
In his previous role, Stokes was responsible for coordinating and compiling the evaluations of all draft-eligible players, while overseeing the entire college scouting staff for the Bucs.
Stokes previously worked 12 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks as assistant director of college scouting, area scout and as an assistant in the pro personnel department.
A University of Nebraska graduate, Stokes played two seasons as a safety for the Seahawks after being selected in the fifth round of the 1997 NFL draft.
