Heat guard Dwyane Wade will not play in Monday’s game against the Hawks at AmericanAirlines Arena.

"It is just part of the plan. He was a little sore today," head coach Erik Spoelstra said. "(Athletic trainer) Jay (Sabol) and I decided it was best for him not to play tonight."

Ray Allen will start in his place.

This comes the same day as Wade was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week by the NBA.

Wade averaged 26.3 points in three Miami wins, including a 97-94 victory over the Pacers Wednesday night.

He scored at least 20 points, shot at least .560 from the floor and led the Heat in scoring in all three games. Wade recorded a season-high 32 points on 15-of-25 shooting against Indiana.

Twice this season teammate LeBron James has earned the honor. Clippers forward Blake Griffin was named Western Conference Player of the Week.

Spoelstra also said Michael Beasley, who has missed two-and-a-half weeks with a strained hamstring, will be in uniform for the game.
