Dolphins sign third-round pick Turner

The Miami Dolphins have signed guard Billy Turner, it was announced on Friday. Turner was Miami's third-round selection (67th overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft out of North Dakota State University. Turner is expected to enter the season as the backup left tackle behind free agent acquisition Brandon Albert, but could also challenge second-year player Dallas Thomas for the starting left guard spot in training camp.

MIAMI -- The Miami Dolphins have signed guard Billy Turner, it was announced on Friday.

Turner was Miami's third-round selection (67th overall) in the 2014 NFL Draft out of North Dakota State University. He played in 57 career games with 56 starts while with the Bison. A two-time consensus All-America selection, he was a starter on a team which won three straight NCAA Division I FCS national championships.

Turner is expected to enter the season as the backup left tackle behind free agent acquisition Brandon Albert, but could also challenge second-year player Dallas Thomas for the starting left guard spot in training camp.
