TAMPA, Fla. — The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed cornerback Danny Gorrer on the injured reserve/designated-for-return list Tuesday and re-signed defensive tackle Gary Gibson, who was released Saturday.
Gorrer, a four-year veteran, sustained a groin injury in the Bucs’ preseason-opening loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Aug. 8 at Raymond James Stadium. He had 11 tackles in six games last season, his first with Tampa Bay, and he is eligible to return this season after eight games. Each team is given one IR/designated-for-return option a year.
Meanwhile, Gibson, an eight-year veteran, returns after having made 18 tackles in 16 games last season.
Also Tuesday, the Bucs signed wide receiver Skye Dawson to the practice squad. Dawson, a TCU product, entered the NFL this year as a college free agent with the Washington Redskins.
In addition, offensive lineman Jace Daniels was released.
