Week 15 pro football survivor picks
Survive and advance is a popular sports mantra normally saved for the month of March and the madness that comes with it.
But thanks to the rapid growth of the NFL and fantasy football, games like FOX Fantasy Survivor can feed your craving for “win or go home” competition seven months early.
Thousands of football fans signed up and participated in the FOX Fantasy Survivor game last season. The hope is, with cash prizes on the line, we can eclipse that mark in 2012.
The premise is simple: pick one (1) team who you believe is going to win that week. The survivor catch remains that once you pick a team to win, you can’t pick that team again for the rest of the season. The good news is, even if you lose, you are still eligible to win cash prizes.
To assist you with your survivor selections, the FOXSports.com’s fantasy football staff will provide you their picks for the week.
Just remember the mantra: survive and advance. In a month, you could be $2,000 richer.
Week 14 Recap
Halpin and Harmon - Buccaneers (Return of the Maclin. Foles last second touchdown pass to Jeremy Maclin crushes the spirit of the Buccs and Fantasy 15's finest.)
Week 15 Picks
Fowler - Rams over Vikings
The last time St. Louis met Minnesota, Brett Favre was behind center for the Vikes. Perhaps this is a paint-by-number survivor selection, but Minnesota is a dreadful 1-5 away from the Metrodome this season. If the Rams can contain Adrian Peterson (MIN 13th in rush defense 110 yards/game) and force Christian Ponder to win the game, I like my chances.
Beall - Buccaneers over Saints
The last time these two teams met, Tampa Bay built a 21-7 lead only to watch New Orleans rattle off 28-unanswered points en route to a seven-point win. The Buccs know they can beat this team (the Saints just allowed New York to hang 52 on them), but with their Tampa's inability to stop the pass, Drew Brees may be too much at home.
Halpin - Browns over Redskins
The Browns are experiencing a rare occurrence. Experts call it a "winning streak." All signs point to RG3 playing with his sprained knee in Week 15. With the elements always a factor in December off the shores of Lake Eerie, this could be a fun one to watch play out.
It's slim pickens in Harmonville. In fact, word on the street is that he "threw up in his mouth a lil'" upon sending in his selection. No question this matchup could turn into a battle between Dan Carpenter and Josh Scobee. Fantasy owners take note!
